Complexion: Semi-transparent (can become more or less so through density control), Pale blue with warm violet and pink undertones, Shiny though she can crystalize through emotion or an attempt to protect herself, Liquid will occasionally freeze on her surface causing little ice crystals or fractals to grow on her

Hair: None of her own though her suit has a long mane of faux hair in a variety of pastel blues, pinks and violets which can be removed or swapped out though she rarely bothers

Eyes: Her physical body does not possess specific optic areas as she can absorb and interpret incoming light from every surface, Her suit's optics units are located in the usual place for solid bipedals though and due to being slightly broken appear almost diamond-like in the iris, The broken nature also makes it difficult for her to see in darkness while in the suit prompting her to occasionally use corrective lenses as it's a cheaper option than trying to get the suit fixed

Scars: Due to the fluidic nature of her body Honey doesn't retain physical manifestations of her injuries, On the other hand the suit can be damaged, It has several scuffs and scratches on it's surface most notably three deep grooves carved into the left cheek and a chunk taken out of the back of the left shoulder

Identifiable Features: Honey's suit was custom made by it's original owner and has several odd features not usually seen in such containment units, Two large stiff bunny ears stick up from the top of the head, There is a cute if stiff bunny tail just above the rump within which numerous different types of plugs can be found to interface with a variety of systems

Personality: Honey is generally a happy, cheerful, optimistic young woman. She's very studious and book smart, but lacks a lot of street smarts and can come across as sheltered and naïve. It's not a lack of common sense, just a lack of social experience due to her school work consuming her life for so long. It does mean that people can pretty easily take advantage of her without her realizing it, though she is quick to stand up for herself and set boundaries once she realizes there's a problem. Honey is especially attached to animals, tending to prefer them to sentient races most of the time. Anyone that hurts or kills any sort of animal will earn her eternal ire. Despite being very confident in her knowledge and competence where her job is concerned, Honey tends to be really insecure about her physical appearance due to how rare her species is, but also her containment unit and it's 'unique' additions and several broken components, specifically the ocular units.

We don't have a lot of animal life on my home planet. It's mostly microbial. Lots of beautiful photosynthic plant life though. The kelp forests near the capital city are fully bioluminescent and just spectacular at sun set.

From my first visit to Toran Tyr (planetary capital) on the surface though I've been fascinated by solids and all their various fauna. Things with little legs and wings, scratchy hands and big claws. Teeth and guts and wagging tails. Songs and growls and hisses and just...just all the different things that make this galaxy so beautiful and diverse. Life...I guess. I sort of fell in love with life and I...I wanted to understand it and...and be a part of it. Just a little. In my own special way.

The problem for Honey with getting too warm is that it breaks down the viscosity of the goo, the things that hold and keep her together. The thinner she gets, the weaker, and dumber, she becomes. It's not a good combination.

Technically slimes don't have parents in the same way solids do. Once a male and female's...er...information (sorry, there's no direct translation of that word in Centalk) is deposited into the...um...primordial ooze? by the Watcher we just sort of coalesce due to the unique biological and chemical composition of the spawning pools. We have minders, of course. The Watchers that are involved in our creation help us form, give us names, teach us the basics we need to survive outside the pools and keep us from escaping until we're dense enough to survive on our own. That sort of thing. Obviously there's more to it than that.

Slimes are extremely rare. In comparison to most species at least. From what I understand there are several lists that have us marked as 'critically endangered'. It's because of the spawning pools you see. That isn't just where we are born. It's the only place in the galaxy where we're capable of being born.

Because the composition of the pools is so unique, those exact conditions haven't been discovered anywhere else in the galaxies. And it's such a complicated and delicate ecosystem that no one has yet been able to successfully recreate it artificially. Which means we're planet bound. No colonies. No expansion. Nothing. And we aren't even able to produce as many offspring as we used to because there was a severe poisoning of the waters around the pools during our last major industrial revolution that almost wiped us out! From what I understand the pools have grown back some due to rigorous cultivation, but they're pretty sure they'll never be as big as they once were. And of course the whole 'artificial pools' problem is made harder because the Glittering Council doesn't want to risk contaminating the pools further with a bunch of scientific equipment.

Due to our vulnerable situation though we do have the biggest and most advanced planetary defense system in the galaxies." Well now, if that isn't a hint of pride in her voice at this admission. "It also means that the Shifting Council isn't exactly keen on any of us leaving the safety of the planet while just about every scientific society and governmental agency is dying to get their hands on us for testing and the like. So if you want to go out and explore the galaxy...you've got to mean it. They put you through all these psychological tests, probably a lot like your pilot license tests actually. And if you pass, then you have to submit to a battery of biological testing. Samples taken, and the like. The whole process takes nearly three years to get through and it's not exactly...fun. It's not nearly as bad as the Council wants people to think it is though. The upside is, if you can endure those three years of being a guinea pig, Central will pretty much pay to let you go wherever you want and study whatever you want.

Well, it helps that we're pretty long lived. The more strain our bodies endure the more quickly we eventually dissolve, but if we don't get too hot or separate our bonds too often we can live for several hundred years. One of the Watchers in my pool swore she was over six hundred years old. Though I think the actual species average is closer to two hundred. There's been some speculation we could potentially become immortal in a vacuum, but...that doesn't sound like a life worth living to me. Certainly not for eternity.

Slimes tend to flirt by changing color, taking on the other person's preferred shapes. Things like that. The way you know he really likes you though is when he asks you to add another party to the, er, 'mix'. That's how you know he's serious.

Slimes can subsist on many substances other species might not consider edible though they prefer plant based foods. They can eat meat or even inert minerals though plastics and metals are beyond them. They absorb and dissolve their food by using a small pocket of acidic slime that they can keep contained in a very small area or spread through their body for maximum absorption.

Blue slimes have three distinct genders. Male, female and xemale. During the mating process all three are necessary for creation of a child. Males and females contribute the physical material necessary to create the child, but only xemales are capable of carrying that material and existing within the spawning pools without contaminating them. It falls to the xemale to look after the child in the spawning pools until they are dense enough to venture out into the wider planet at which point the male and female are expected to begin helping with the child rearing process (though expectations do not always match reality). Xemales are often called 'Watchers' by outside cultures but this is a misnomer as they are as involved and integral a part of the mating process as males and females. Polyamory is common in slime culture though not a requirement. There are plenty of slimes who chose to only date one gender (the same or different from their own) until they wish to procreate. The population is not an even 1/3 split between the 3 genders. Xemales are known to be slightly rarer than males and females (who are about an equal percentage of the population) and therefore they are the most sought out of genders to 'fraternize' with. It's nearly impossible for non-slimes to tell the difference between the three genders as it's all a matter of chemical composition.

What she does have, though, is a body that is capable of sensing vibrations in the air and anything she's touching by the way it causes the viscous liquid her body is made from to vacillate.

Honey's species don't have 'brains' in the common sense of the word, but they are intelligent. Their sentience and smarts come from the energy that also holds their bodies together and allows them to give it form. The up side of this is that slimes often become smarter the smaller they squish their bodies. The downside is that they tend to become dumber the more they spread out. Sometimes this can be a blessing in disguise though. After all, who hasn't wished they could shut off their brains on command? While it won't make her completely inert, it is certainly relaxing feeling herself spread out and dispersed to something simpler, less complicated.
